Wayne Green
My name is Wayne Green and I'm a solo singer/songwriter/guitarist.
Although I've been writing music for quite a few years, I've only really ever performed covers. I've played in various bands doing all the usual "crowd pleasers", but I've only started to concentrate on my own material fairly recently after growing pressure to do so from friends etc.
I'd describe my music as guitar based Pop/Rock. I like melodic stuff and songs with punchy chorus lines and good lyrics and I try to incorporate that into my own music. I'm also really into acoustic tunes and believe that you don't particularly need screaming electric guitars to have an excellent song.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I've been in plenty of cover bands but this is my first attempt at selling my own material.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We play live fairly often, but at the moment it's mainly just local.
Your musical influences
Bryan Adams, Aerosmith, Thunder, Stereophonics, Def Leppard, John Denver (yeah, yeah I know), Bon Jovi. Basically anyone that got me playing air guitar, and emagining that I was up on stage while listening to their music - there are loads of bands responsible for that.
What equipment do you use?
Turner semi-acoustic, Gibson Les Paul, Marshall Amps.
