From the dingy subburbs of Marske (and the more hardcore, gang ridden area of Nu-Marske) started Wasted Youth. No, not the scumbags hanging around outside your local Bells Stores asking for 10 pence for the bus, but the band determined to make a difference to local music. From the near death experiences of funk bass player Nathy, including a burst lung, a giant heart, and a car crash with guitarist Smithy, to the powerful, sometimes angry, and often humerous lyrics of the eccentric vocalist Knightsie.
Wasted Youth started as a 3-piece, and were always on the search for a drummer capable of the pre-written drum beats, mixed with influences such as The Offspring to Rage Against The Machine. When ScottIsh joined the band, the scene was set for victory, or most probably failure! The bands first two songs, "Contradictions" and "Life's a Bitch" are basic but catchy, yet also completely different! Among others, "Un-Decided", "Killing Kittens", and "Wasted Youth" followed, to couple the incredibly serious version of two grown "men" singing TATU's "All The Things She Said". Although non-commital to any particular genre, with their crunchy guitar riffs, funky bass licks, upbeat drumming, and passionate vocals, Wasted Youth are a band to look out for, well maybe, if they get their arses outta the pub and down to some serious business!
Now comes the next chapter in the Wasted Youth book... after some slight member shifting (band members that is...), Adam Hicks was employed on the sticks, and the more serious powerful Grunge Rock pieces of "Worthy", "The Maze" and "Garden Kiss" were born.
