Wasp and Pear
Obscure to most people on this planet whose mouths have been moistened by the magic of potable water, Wasp and Pear have nonetheless achieved mythical status. T, the quintessence of tortured and artistic, has chosen the inhospitable climes of remote Montana as his home, where, apart from me, he cannot be contacted. As is apropos, D hails from Texas, befitting his larger than life, flamboyant stature. Nothing but flatlines all around.
Please understand that I write this in spite of them. They, I, otherwise wish to maintain their myth.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
1968
1971
2001 - Negotiations began, thus their legend. Known as "The Ayatollahs."
2003 - Formal beginnings. Known as, appropriately enough, "The Deathbed Converts."
2004-2005 - Continued refinement of sound and concept.
2006 and beyond - You, the listener, will determine.
Your musical influences
You, gentle listener, will discern them for yourself. Wasp and Pear do not wish to impose genre limitations on you or influence your listening experience/pleasure.
What equipment do you use?
Most sounds, tones, textures, noises are generated by that quaintest of musical instruments, the electric guitar. True, Wasp and Pear uses the odd sample here and there, but most of those find their origin in wood and wire as well.
Equipment used:
Don:
Cheap guitar to Zvex Fuzz Factory to Electro Harmonix Micro Synthesizer to MXR Blue Box to Proco Rat II modified by Effector 13 to Ernie Ball VP Jr. 6180 to Korg KP-2 Kaoss Pad to Boss DD-20 Gigadelay to 60 Watt Fender Concert Amplifier.
Todd (contact for confirmation of accuracy):
Guitar to Effector 13 Truly Beautiful Disaster (feedback loop contains Boss panning tremolo (model?) to Boss PH-3 phaser to Boss HM-3 distortion) to Electro Harmonix Big Muff Pi to Ibanez analog delay (model?) to Line 6 DL-4 delay to Boss DD-20 Gigadelay to 15 Watt Mesa Booogie Subway Rocket amplifier.
Anything else?
Wasp and Pear is greater entertainment value than gasoline, and they will only appreciate in value.
