Washboard Professional
Washboard Professional is simply Josh Wageman on his guitar, plucking soothing melodies and weaving intricate lyrical tapestries to accompany the catchy and infectious guitar work. His style has been compared to that of Dashboard Confessional, except he never even comes close to crying during any of his songs, avoids being repetitive or annoying, and doesn't need tattoos on his arms to look good.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Switching to the first person, I will play anywhere and everywhere I have an audience, be it on a bus full of midgets or a colony of Turkish gypsies. Every moment that I can have an impact on someone's life is special.
Your musical influences
Rod Stewart, although I have never listened to his music, has had a profound influence. Gwen Stefani has also been instrumental in giving me an example of what not to sound like. I believe Tupac is still alive. But really, Jack Johnson, other acoustic pop, and Dashboard, to a certain extent, have similar sounds.
What equipment do you use?
Fender guitars, Gallien-kruger amps, Meadowgold chocolate milk
