Band/artist history
Walrus Man and Mighty Tighty Rhymefish is the funniest shit you've never heard. Originally formed in 1998 as a Green Day cover band, the group quickly realized that they had pretty much no musical talents whatsoever and decided to focus on comedy instead. Using mainly cheesy techno beats cobbled together by the resident DJ, Walrus Man, the group recorded the rants of the irrepressible MC Mighty Tighty Rhymefish and released (in limited quantities) the Brain Surgery EP in 1999.
The name of the group might mislead you into thinking that Walrus Man and the Rhymefish are the only two musician/comedians who contribute. This could not be further from the truth. Despite the fact that only the names of the first two members are used, the name "Walrus Man and Mighty Tighty Rhymefish" refers to the entirety of the group, sort of like the way "Monty Python" refers to everybody who makes up the Python.
Besides the titular Man and Rhymefish, WM&MTR are made whole by such comedic talents as Big E Lizard King (who is also the group's technical supervisor), Johnny B, The Shot Doctah, Daniel Weird, Big Sid, Hardcore Chris McC, and Jacov. Pretty much anybody who contributes is considered a member of the team, so there are many others who aren't named here; check out the lyrics page to see a few of the others who have written music or lyrics for us.
Dipshit Productions was created in 1999 as WM&MTR's own personal production company and pseudo-record label. It still serves these purposes; currently headed by Walrus Man, Mighty Tighty Rhymefish, and technical advisor Big E Lizard King, Dipshit Productions handles anything and everything to do with WM&MTR.
After the limited release of the Brain Surgery EP in 1999, personal problems led to the collapse of the group, and no further music was made until 2002, when the members were able to patch things up and come together once again for the sake of comedy. So far, no official albums have ever been released, but the final cut of the Rhymefish's first CD, Shut the Hell Up, is slated for release in early- to mid-2004. Also, the Rhymefish has entered the studio to start work on a second album tentatively called Version 6.9, which may see release in 2005, in addition to a possible DVD release sometime in 2004.
Walrus Man and Mighty Tighty Rhymefish have never been played on the radio, but a demo is in the works for distribution in 2004. If you would be interested in hearing the demo, it will be distributed free of charge starting February 1, 2004. To get a copy, please send an e-mail to WalrusM@excite.com stating how many copies you would like, an address to which the demo(s) can be mailed, and a brief description of why you are interested.
2003 has been an excellent year for WM&MTR and company, and 2004 looks to be just as productive, if not even moreso. So here's hoping that you and others like you will be back to suck at that sweet, juicy comedic teat that is Walrus Man and Mighty Tighty Rhymefish.
Goodnight, and God bless. Bitches.
