Wade Lipham
Wade Lipham is a young man living in Fort Worth, Texas who plays the acoustic blues. He believes that blues are not just simple progressions and howling riffs; the blues are a feeling and a state of mind. You may hear Wade play songs that aren't traditionally part of the blues ... but the heart of the song is always blue.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Not a terrible amount of history. An interest in playing fingerstyle emerged from listening to Leo Kottke and the interest in lead emerged from listening to rock. I learned to play the guitar about five years ago, took a brief hiatus and came back strong; I haven't stopped since.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I occasionally play a live gig solo, but mostly lead guitar for the praise band at my church.
Your musical influences
The Beatles; Leo Kottke; Robert Johnson; Mark Knopfler.
