Self-acclaimed “NorthWest Special Guest”, but before W.I.S.H., there was just regular Durrant Morris, Born July 3rd 1982 Hammersmith Hospital, London. Raised in NorthWest London with both parents, 2 sisters and an older brother. Was always ahead of the pack at school, from nursery to secondary and in time grew a passion for poetry. Before the emergence of his poetic side, he played the recorder and the violin, also played football and basketball for his school teams and always giving 110%. Also was a comic book fanatic spending a fortune on Marvel comics every week-end. This also allowed his artistic side to shine as he enjoyed sketching from time to time. At age 15, the poetic side became clear that it wasn’t just a streak, it was heartfelt. He first began writing love poems for girls, and for girlfriends of fellow friends. The passion grew and in 2001 began recording his 1st demo CDs at home. At this early stage the lyrical content was there, but there was much room for improvement, and he did. He then took up rapping as more than a hobby in 2002, continuing to sharpen his skills and hasn’t looked back since. In late 2002, joined forces with a local producer from South London by the name of Dean Anthoni, began recording tracks under a label name ButtaSmoove Entertainment. This was his first insight into the industry where he learnt a lot about the smiles and the cries of the music industry. Throughout the 2 years of working together, he went on to record many tracks including his signature track “NorthWest Special Guest” which he performed live across the city of London Town. Venues included: JUMP OFF (twice), Plan B (Brixton), Balham Festival, The Spot (Covent Garden), Mint Bar (Camden), Opium (Soho) and more. Now, he is still recording and currently working on a new project under the name “H.O.S.T. INC” alongside his manager/rapper Lyn-E-Lyn. He plans to bring in some new artists too, providing all forms of support as he puts his heart into the new project. Currently recording tracks for the first official EP from “W.I.S.H.” (still untitled), which is to be released in the summer of 2005. Improving every year, he has now began to come into the production side of the music game and will be the lead producer on the album which is soon to come. Completed his first performance of the new project on Good Friday March 25th at the Thistle Hotel, and got love from the crowd with as he demonstrated just why he is something to watch for. With such a distinctive and unpredictable style, there’s no telling where this rapper/poet/producer won’t succeed. From the trials and tribulations of the harsh realities of street life to his many escapades with numerous women, he’s got a lot of knowledge for the people, he plans to make you smile, cry, and rejoice with his special talent. “I’ve got something for everyone, for the ladies, for the thugs, for the kids, I’ve even got something for the mothers!” Watch this space!
