violet
It is refreshing to hear a band with an original sound in an increasingly saturated scene by the the garage bands that are beginning to sound the same. Yes violet is raw and garage-esque however they are very distinctive from other rock bands out now.
I knew this is a two-piece band prior to checking out the cd but I didnt notice the normal bass guitar was missing. The guitar work is very full sounding. The drums are very tight & complimentary to the guitar playing considering they only record during live takes. Overall what I really like about these songs that they are catchy, short and as Tenacious D would say they rock your f*#!king socks off. They are served to you piping hot on a platter shoved into your face as you swallow them down after only 3 licks like a tootsie pop and its gone leaving you begging for more because you loved the flavor so much but you didnt get to taste it long enough. This is a great start for a band that sounds like they have a ton of potential. I look forward to hearing more from them in the future.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
