VinaBlue
I'm VinaBlue: an electronic composer, lyricist and singer. I'm looking for a producer, drum programmer, guitarist and anyone else who would like to collaborate. I'd like to venture into World Music by using tabla, harmonium, saxophones, marimba... The possibilities are endless!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I've always loved to sing... I studied piano, voice, African Drumming and Electronic Music in college. I have an A.S. in Commerical Music. I've been working on these songs on and off for a few years. For more music, please visit http://www.soundclick.com/lunaarcana
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I don't play live right now. I used to sing backup and play a drum for my friend, Butterfly. I enjoyed that very much, however I became frustrated because I wanted to do my own music. Once these songs are finished I plan to put together a band and start bringing new life to these songs on stage.
Your musical influences
Duran Duran was the first band to inspire me to create music. I love all 80's music and synths. Depeche Mode, Madonna, Bjork, Sting, Sade, Tori Amos, Prince, Terence Trent D'arby, Ruby, Poe, The Doors and many more inspire me. I love movie scores. My favorite score composers are Elliot Goldenthal, Greame Revell, Thomas Newman and Danny Elfman. I love Indian music, and Vivaldi really rocks my world.
What equipment do you use?
Very low key. Korg N364 for the sounds. Roland HP1900G weighted digital piano. Cakewalk ProAudio 9. No amps. Microphone is a hand me down. I play everything live on the synth and record using midi.
I just got a new mic (MXL990) and Reason. Now I need to upgrade my pc so I can put some new stuff together... Stay tuned...
