VIDO & GROWING TREE

Speyer, Germany
April 24, 2000
First of all I would like to say greetings to all the "Growing Tree"-fans and frenemies cos "who God bless no man curse". Since more than a decade Growing Tree has established, known for backing different international artists. The band has been on and off stage because they never had a serious and reliable singer until I met them some four years ago ater I left my ex-band the "LIVIN' SPIRITS" whom I worked three years with. After our first concert the band, Growing Tree lost a drummer who was also a good singer and we would like to say "rest in peace" brother "Vicki", the struggle continues and the show must go on. At the present moment we're working hard performing, recording as a result of our CD, which is out now in the stores for you to get it if you like the band. Let me introduce the band to you, First myself Vido on lead-vocals, André on bass, Adriaan on drums, Andy on keyboards, Carlo on Rhythm + Lead Guitar, Sister Esther from the "Royal Family", Sister Davy ex-Reality Brothers, Tom Ice our engineer and producer for all times, our special guest-musicians are Alphie on Percussion and Fabian on Saxophon not forgetting our management "Fat Push", our lable "Goodlife-Records" and "Paengg" Distribution who are getting things moving slowly but sure. So here we are ready to ram dancehall on your doorstep with our roots reggae, Ragga and Dancehall style. So if you want some more information about us keep on clicking on our internet page yeah...
Band/artist history
VIDO & GROWING TREE is really 150% Reggae, but their understanding of this wonderful music includs the whole wide range from ground moving Dub and bass-driven Roots-Reggae up to the modern Raggamuffin-Dancehall-Style. When Vido & Growing Tree were playing the ARIWA-Showcases along side to acts like Macka B. & The Robotiks, Dread Youth and Tippa lrie, they definitly could make a name for themselfs. With every live show they fire the audience in the most grooving way. They also initiated very successful projects with Top-Raggamuffin-DJs like Asher D., Joseph Cotton and Prento Youth. They were acknowledged by british press by several enthusiastic reviews. South Africa based VIDO and the multinational GROWING TREE for sure are one of the top Reggae Acts 2000.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yeah we play a lot of live shows in and out of Berlin and we even have some concerts outside of Germany, too. Up to now every show has been great, we had lot of special moment and big events like the "Hemp Parade" two years ago, it was fantastic.

What equipment do you use?
Yeah... we do use electronic stuff but a reggae feeling, style and fashion, especially keybords.
