Vicki Parks
Hi there. I am Vicki Parks. I am a singer/songwriter/musician. I have 50+ original songs of different genres, ie: country, christian, blues, jazzykinda, and alternative folky. OK...so I have my own set of linguistics. Nobody told me that I coudn't, so.... That's the best way I can describe them.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Hi.... I'm Vicki Parks
I'm winging this one.....so please bear with me. I am not exactly sure how or where to start. I guess I'll just tell you a little bit about me.
I am a Singer/Songwriter/Musician.
I'm 46 years old, born 02-22-58.
I am engaged to be married to Rick Sheppard in September of 2005.
I live in Augusta, GA now. I spent the last 22 years in Texas, and the 22 years before that in the Chicago suburbs.
I have two brothers, Charlie Parks & Ed Parks, in the Chicago area. Our parents, Charles & Ruth Parks rest in peace.
I have three children that are now all grown up and living in Houston, TX.
David-30, Sandi-28, and John-27 as of October 2004.
I went to McLennan Community College in Waco, TX from 1994 - 1997, majoring in Commercial Music Performance.
I play a good, strong, solid rythym guitar, and I play at the keyboard and bass.
I have a two and a half octave vocal range, and I am an alto.
I have over 70 original songs, complete with melody lines and chord progressions ready and available for your consideration.
Once upon a time I was a bad girl, doing bad things. For this I am sorry and would like to take this opportunity to apologize to and ask forgiveness from everyone that I may have hurt, whether directly or indirectly in my past. Those were pre-God days. Those days are gone forever. Praise God.
I now have Jesus in my life. He comes first and the rest follows. I pray that you have Him in your life, too. Amen
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I was performing all over the Texas, Oklahoma, and Georgia last year, but I am currently having orthopedic difficulties that have made me change my way of making a living from performing to songwriting. I can still pull up a stool and get out the guitar and sing a few. It's my favorite thing to do. My stress relief.
