In 1992 her family encouraged her to enter Talent America Contest; which was held in Portland, Maine. She received two awards Most Stage Presence and Best Personality. on SoundClick.

Vicki has been influenced by many different artists and genre through the years. Enjoying such artists as Patsy Cline, Aretha Franklin, Martina McBride, LeAnn Rimes, Celine Dion, Faith Hill, Melissa Ethridge, Shania Twain to name a few.
