February 25, 1973 as a college senior an 18-year-old kid came left of center and hit me head-on in a car crash. Hospitalized it kept me from graduating with my classmates. I had to attend summer school to complete my degree. I took with me to summer school an old guitar along with the album and songbook "The Silver Tongued Devil And I" by Kris Kristofferson. As I tried to learn my first song I realized the practice time had been the longest I had gone without thinking about the wreck and all the problems it had caused. It had killed the kid who had crashed into me and he was an only child.
Since learning "The Silver Tongued Devil And I," I have turned to the songs of Kris Kristofferson during times of trouble in my life. In 1999 I lost my older son, Tad, in a car wreck during his junior year at Fairmont State College and in 2003 my wife decided to divorce me. When I got into an apartment of my own I turned to the songs of Kristofferson, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Jimmy Buffet and others. After a few months I began writing my own songs and "Uranus" is the result.

Band/artist history
Since my ex filed for DIVORCE, 6/6/2003 I have played as many open mics as I can.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Often, at any open mic between here and Uranus.
Your musical influences
THE BEATLES, like every child of the sixties, plus Kris Kristofferson, Bob Dylan, Eagles, Jimmy Buffet, Willie Nelson and something inside that I cannot understand or explain.
Anything else?
If you love fireworks with your music, you will hate me. I am "One Man, One Mic, One Music Making Instrument" with no bells and whistles or green tambourines. I put poetry in motion without circus tactics.

When I Went Off To College is a great one, Vic. Love the humor! Boy, we could all use a big dose of laughs, and this one really delivers--in a great way, of course!
Thanks for the plays, amigo! Enjoy the time off!
Peace,
Jim
Put my whole CD on my Soundclunk page. If you get a spare few, it might at least make you laugh.
All is well with the new job. I hope all is well with you, too.
Peace,
Jim
Hi Vic...
Thanks for the visits and kind words mate.
Came back and decided to follow the story through into You Wanted Out as you suggested...
Ah....
The reality is not right for commenting on.
The song itself, yeah, once again, you really do take on the mantle of a story teller so well.
I sat and listened quietly, and just nodded here and there as phrases passed me by...
Very strong hook in this one Vic.
Sad reality,excellent song.
Nice one mate.
Nigel.
