Via Satellite

I can sum it up in two words, DAVE T.V. Via Satellite's music is in fact the soundtrack to DAVE T.V. And now that we're too old for mohawks, we're more rockpunk than punkrock. We enjoy faster than fast, and slower than slows. It's mostly a riff band with our song structure being compared to early VH, building songs around riffs rather than composing "music". And although there is a lot of screaming there is enough of the softer side of rock. Melody meets medal... Didn't Metal Church already prove that?

The aggressive-melodic rock group Via Satellite originally started as the band Death By Nostalgia in 1998. The original members include Seth Winters on guitar, Matt Emenheiser on drums and Frank Burkett, vocals. Bassist Tyler Smith left the band to explore other projects in 2001. After Tyler left, the band started working on new material in their practice room for a few months while Frank learned to play the bass. The band played local shows as a trio for short time until they recruited Andrea Shearer on second guitar. With the extra guitar and vocals, the band finally had the sound they were looking for and started performing together as Via Satellite. Early in 2003, Ass Card Records in Dortmund, Germany offered to press a new Via Satellite album and put them in touch with Gate to Hell booking agency who set up a one-month European tour. The tour kicked off in Germany and included cities in Switzerland and Austria. Presently the band is looking to release their current album in the United States and would like to tour to promote it. The band is also in the process of developing new songs for a follow up album.
