Verite
I usually make music by myself, but I love collaborating as well.
It's hard for me to categorize the kind of music that I make.
Although certain beats definitely fall into one category, most of what I make is a mix of trip hop and film score type music.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I played classical violin for 8 years as a kid, and started playing again a few months ago. I have been making electronic music for 7 years. I have a background in Audio Engineering and Broadcasting but my true calling is music production.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I don't currently play live. I'd much rather spend time making beats in my studio.
If I am at a show where one of my beats is playing, I am in the crowd sipping on a drink, and checking out people's reactions...
Your musical influences
I love Hip Hop ( expecially 80's hip hop ), Trip Hop, Drum & Bass, Jungle, Reggae, Electronica, Soul, African percussion CD's, Funk, Film scores, and more....
A few of the many artists I admire: Amon Tobin, Air, Roni Size, Saint Germain, LTJ Bukem, Dr Dre, The Roots, The Jackson five, Digable Planets, Cut Chemist, Ronny Jordan, Morcheeba, Moloko, Public Enemy..
What equipment do you use?
Proton theory was made using an Akai MPC 2000 sampler ( back when that is all I had ). Everything else was made using Fl Studio and various plugins.
Anything else?
