Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Been writing poetry off and on since I was young, but got serious about it around 2000. Started reciting at various venues, and got a lot of support and praise. I dropped my first CD in 2003, published my first book in 2006.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I often do live poetry performances and speaking engagements.
Your musical influences
Some musical influences are Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, India Arie, and Me'Shell Ndegeocello. As a poet, I'm influenced by the likes of Nikki Giovanni, Maya Angelou, Alice Walker, and Iyanla Vanzant.
