Velatones were based in Newcastle Upon Tyne between around late 1999 till summer 2004 (ish). Inspired by 60s/70s rock and punk aggression, Velatones knocked out some tuneful songs combining big riffs, hooky choruses and ever bigger guitar solos.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
gigging was where Velatones were always best. Many gigs played in the North East region and the odd gig further afield in Cumbria, Leeds and Edinburgh.
Your musical influences
AC/DC, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, Manic Street Preachers, Small Faces and generally any 60s and 70s rock, punk, brit-pop and such.
What equipment do you use?
Marshalls, Gibson Les Pauls, Fender Jazz Bass, Matamp bass amps, Mapex kits, Paiste cymbals.
