XRAY's Cowbell by Misadventure

Song: Homage
wish the lead guitar a bit more up front in the mix
clearly some excellent soloing is going on – albeit buried in the mix
only complaint - too short!!
cool guitar sounds at the very end of the song – glad you left that in

Song: Nod to the Man
kudos
almost a Bluesbreakers tone without being imitative
playing is a heartful of soul
love the pinched harmonics
below are a few of my favorite licks during the solo:
0:48/40"
1:36/37"
1:41/42"
1:55/58"
you sure can shake them strings!

yes! number one with a bullet...
vocals better placement in the mix – stronger overall
very infectious hook in the chorus
good use (finally) of doubled vocal track plus harmony
again, monster guitar tones... what was used?
obviously, a killer song

very good drummer – very happy to hear the drums mixed forward
intro / sound effects effective without becoming annoying
very strong chorus – "sing-song" melody an ear grabber
vocals much stronger
love the effect on the lyric, "mandalism"
middle 8 = love the climbing guitar/bass line
guitar tone a cool "I'm A Man" (Spencer Davis) vibe - ala' Windood's B3

Song: Loser by The Mandalores
piano intro effective set-up
glockenspiel (cowbell ;~) nice touch - broadens the instrumentation
absolutely great guitar tone
using a Leslie or an envelop filter on guitar(s)?
bass featured for a few bars = a pleasant surprise to the ear
excellent bass tone
kind of a Spooky Tooth vibe (in a good way) to the song (one of my favorite bands)
not sure I like the way the vocals are buried in the mix
the instruments are the strongest links in the chain...
like the outro solo

excellent guitar tone – thick, lush texture
keyboard/organ very strong
wish the vocal more forward in the mix and more movement in the melody – undoubtably a producer would fiddle about with the vocal, ha ha
middle 8 strong
chorus strong
an ear grabber

Song: Blues for Annie
Such a sad story that inspired this beautiful song, I think the blues has to be felt deeply before it can come out and hit us in the heart like this, then it's pure magic but most blues has been lived hard before it flies like a butterfly into the soul, captured forever.

John...yeah, it's me...hey...could you come down and get me out of jail? No...no...it was nothing like that! Who told you that? No....man....she hit me first.....several times...yeah, and she said bad things about your mum and I just couldn't take it anymore and I kinda lost are you coming to get me? There's some unsavory charachters in here. Yeah, thanks John. Hurry, OK? Love you, too, mate.

Hi John,
Some mighty tasty playing on Blues for Annie.
very soulful playing beautiful tone deft balance between the two guitars use of half–steps very effective in adding melancholia rhythm guitar strong sense of swing and movement without being heavy-handed below, a few of my favorite licks: 0:36/37" 0:58/59" 1:44/46" lovely, tender ending letting the last note ring/fade out without adding any vibrato to it impressive
