Van Tek
My name is Jason, I got into shuffley "jackin" house around February 2005 when my roomie finally influenced me to give in to the temptation of the groovey music... I am now an addict. The music you're about to listen to is the result of my addiction.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
This one time... at band camp... ...
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I play out at parties and clubnights and whatnot, definately love watching people dance to music I made! A special moment for me was the first time I played some of my own music out, at a club in Juarez, Mexico... A point in the track came on where there were some vocals done by an elderly black woman, talking about kids today doing and selling drugs... the whole crowd let out a roar when she started talking and a rush unlike anything I've ever experienced before took over my body... Very life-changing experience for me.
Your musical influences
Waaaaay too many influences to list. Some recent ones would be Joey Youngman in all his various names, Mazi, Jason Hodges, Natural Rhythms, Patrick Turner, Jay Tripwire, Brett Johnson... see what I mean? The list goes on and on...
What equipment do you use?
My computer and my mind... Fruityloops and Cubase SX help in the translation.
Anything else?
I like pie...
