Vacant Revolution (UK)
Vacant Revolution are a 5-piece band from Kidderminster, a small town near Birmingham, UK. We are signed to the local record labael MAS records which was founded by Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin). We are in the process of recording our first E.P soon to be released in 2005. Vacant Revolution are one of the larger bands in our area and are hoping to tour the Midlands within the next couple of years.
Band/artist history
Vacant Revolution started in the may 2003 by Tom Sandell, Sean Goggin and Chris Fraser who had recently left the small band visa versa. This formed the heavy riff work of the early style of vacant revolution. In late may Tom asked Ex Bloody Mary and Leviathans Fable drummer James Batson to join the fold. This formed the first lineup of vacant revolution, and the members worked tirelessly to write material and by august had a set list ready, There first gig at Redwoods wine bar in Kidderminster went well although the crowd gave the band a mixed reception. They were also asked to play at a local venue later that week but they had to decline due to illness in the band. Near the end of august the band regrouped and called in Vicki Adkins to help with tom on vocals. Sadly in mid September Tom Sandell left the band. The band scrapped all of their own songs and decided to start from scratch, they slowly worked onwards looking for a male vocalist until early November when Sam Turley was asked to join. Sam has brought his own influential style to Vacant Revolution and in mid December the band played two gigs on the same day both with good feedback coming back. Shortly after Sean had to leave due to leaving for America, and Will Escott was brought in as the new guitarist and brought along a more creative sound. The band are now currently doing gigs round the Kidderminster area supporting such bands as Girls Love Ponies, Weak 13 and groove sadistic to name a few.
