We started out in Medieval England and slowly evolved into a lean mean music making machine
Merlin and the Gnometones were a garageband from the sixties. They toured the US playing for small audiences, living day to day. They recorded over 70 songs using what ever equipment they could borrow. Recently, a tape was discovered with 30 of their original recordings. (Ironically in a garage sale) They have been digitally remastered and posted here for your enjoyment. Seriously, I am a non-performing songwriter just trying to get his music out to people who may enjoy it. Most of it falls into the classic rock genre, but there is a little bit of everything here. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to listen.

Lyrics
Way out west in the days of old When men were men and gold was gold There was a place called the Silver Moon Was nothing more than a small saloon But from miles around men came to drink They'd drink until the booze would stink Above the joint you could rent a bed And in the morning you could get fed The stars and planets were aligned just right Illuminating the sky with a brilliant light Strange things were causing such a fright Strange things that made it a stranger night Early one evening, in walked a girl Her hair was silk and her eyes were pearl She stepped to the bar and ordered a beer And behind her back the men edged near They stared at this strange and rare beauty To love her it seemed was their duty They fought each other to get her first They no longer cared about their thirst The stars and planets were aligned just right Illuminating the sky with a brilliant light Strange things were causing such a fright Strange things that made it a stranger night 'Fore they reached her she stepped to the rear She didn't have time to finish her beer She ripped off her clothes but still wasn't bare Beneath was her red flannel underwear On her chest was a giant letter "P" She had a flowing cape for all to see Out of her mouth came a booming holler It is I, Paula, the female mauler The stars and planets were aligned just right Illuminating the sky with a brilliant light Strange things were causing such a fright Strange things that made it a stranger night She picked up five men and flung them around Their bodies made such a deafening sound Soon the men were all over the floor She stepped on them on the way to the door Then she turned around and waved good-bye And when she flew off into the sky Out of her mouth came a booming holler It is I, Paula, the female mauler The stars and planets were aligned just right Illuminating the sky with a brilliant light Strange things were causing such a fright Strange things that made it a stranger night
