Story behind the song
A song I wrote following the devastating 7.1 magnitude earthquake which struck Christchurch, New Zealand at 4.35am on September 4, 2010.
Lyrics
4.35 On a Saturday morn The angry earth Rose up and ripped out our homes We milled around On the streets in the lightless dark Wishing for peace And the comfort of the dawn Before the sun came up Before the tremors went down We picked each other up from the ground Oh Christchurch You make me proud to call you my home Oh Christchurch You make me so proud today.
