(TrEE verse) the streets were dark and hardly lit everything seems like nothing and he has the urge to start again he told himself he broke the habit but he has to have it placed himself into a box that he's now trapped in he waits on the corner knowing he can't afford it knowing his family and friends don't support it but he ignores it he stands there with his hands in his pockets with the moon droppin' is he getting higher or is the the sky falling ? I looked up his nose once and saw his kids happy him and his wife laughing instead of looking past him it's kinda tragic cuz now his kids don't have a daddy knowing how at one point, they knew how it was to have him they go to parties and end up passed out on bathroom floors calling their father a failure and make it all seem all his fault like "how could you do this to us?" but not realize "They doing the same stuff" the names may not be the same but it's the same path apples and oranges sit side by side in the fruit basket you can say it's different all you like but your following footsteps that neither foot appears to be right
