Story behind the song
This first movement of Evan Schafer's first symphony is lively, bouncy, grandiose, introspective, futuristic, hopeful, contemplative, remorseful, happy, funny and sad all within the space of ten short minutes. While only the first movement of a larger, still to-be-completed work, Schafer regards this section as one of the finest and most to be revered in his completed oeuvre.
