"firesong" is the songwriting ministry of Dan Simmons Thanks for stopping by. It's my desire to faithfully share that which has been given to me. There's and old weathered barn that sits on a hill
With a silo and shed and a rusty windmill
I remember the place like a friend from the past
Where we all had our dreams and the memories would last
I remember that old weathered barn

And I remember the smell of the hay in the loft
Where we slept as a kid when the evenings were soft
Where the swallows and bats and an ol' hootin' owl
Used to scare us to death now it just brings a smile
O, I remember that old weathered barn

And this place was much more to my brothers and me
Than just an old weathered barn and a fond memory
For that's where we would grow like the weeds in the field
