This was originally a live song, but I ended up multi tracking the chorus. There is one and only one guitar and its live, gaffs and all. Its finger style on #1 with LR Baggs pickup through a guitar pre-amp with a Delay. Remixed in 2014.

This is Jeff Kratzman's Christian Page. I have two categories one for Secular and one for Christian songs. I've had a lifelong relationship with Christ and not to explore the spiritual side in music, would be foolish. I hope you enjoy the songs and take the time to follow-up on some of the Bible verses that inspired the songs. I welcome all feedback, but unpleasantness will just be deleted. This isn't a forum for theological debate. If you don't want to listen to Christian Music, try the Jeff Kratzman - Songs link. There's another 50 songs there.

Story behind the song
I originally wrote this song in 2009 and remixed it in 2014. Song is basically about the emptiness of living only for this world. Verse one's imaginary comes from the idea of fallen/broken me - playing for the Glory of the one true King. Verse 2 is the fallen/broken me meeting and relying on the infinite that already knew me. Verse 3 takes on the imagery of the sinful nature of me hiding from God (Think Adam/Eve in the garden hiding in their sin). Verse 4 - the difference between the love of the good shepherd and surrendering to him. Verse 5 is giving up the old nature for the new and truly living for Christ.
Lyrics
1. I'm so weak and I so yearn To be standing next Your fire and sing To share Your love and to burn You are my Lord and King Empty, I'm so tired of being empty I want to be refilled by Your word again I admit that I have failed My life is at Your feet Help me to live for you again 2. You knew the number of my days Before You knitted me in the my mother's womb I came to faith in my childhood room But now, I am broken and I call Your name 3. I was a slave to my own sin Lost in a world, I failed again and again I hid my face, unworthy of the Son To be recognized now as forgiven 4. I know You'd leave the 99 for just one Because that stray away sheep was me Following promise where Satan's wolfs find prey Helpless I turned to You and prayed 5. I place my old life at the foot of the cross The blood of the lamb, for the sinful and the lost You paid the price, when I was still Your enemy Before I could say I'd do anything for You
