Lyrics
She's leaving on the red eye coming all this way for "goodbye" She said she thinks she be here by dawn. Her heart is set on breaking mine and leaving me far behind, I can tell by what she left out on the phone. She's got some things to say to me. She said it won't be easy, but she'd rather do it now than waste her time. She says "I gotta go now" I can hear her voice fade out as she says "I got someone on the other line" (Chorus 1) I know she'll pack her bags and take a drag off a worn-out cigarette and remember what she's too weak to forget. Praying for a miracle to stave away the dawn. with a little luck, when she gets here, I'll be gone. The train is in the station, and I am on the road, trying not to admit what I've done. Running like the devil, i'm gonna outfly the angels. i never have been to proud to run. (Chorus 2) and so I'll pack my bags and take a drag off a worn-out cigarette and remember what i'm too weak to forget. Praying for a miracle to stave away the dawn. with a little luck, when I get there, she'll be home.
