Arise was formed when two former frontmen from respective Heavy Metal bands met in 1994 and decided to try something different. Christian lyrical themes combined with acoustic and pop rock sensibilities make up the sound. The love and grace of God makes up the spirit of the project.

Story behind the song
I wrote the first verse of this song in 1989 before I was a Christian. I was working as a Janitor at the time cleaning office buildings. The second half was written after I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. As with most of my lyrics, it is biographical.
