I am a musician and songwriter (primarily guitar and mandolin, but with amateur forays into banjo, fiddle, concertina, percussion and keyboard), jammer and jam host, recording engineer, producer, studio mole and occasional performer. When I perform solo, I'm hank49. When friends accompany me, we're hank49 and Loose Canon. Lyrics
VERSE 1: Begin again, ita??s 4 AM The birds and everything The crows squawk and up and down the block Night shakes from their wings. I awake and do an inventory Yeah, I feel OK I get to task, yeah, I know the story, Howa??d it get this way? CHORUS: Therea??s a wheel That still turns this old heart of mine Lifts my heels In these measures of quarter time VERSE 2: Off leash, picking up our feet now Let those spirits fly Run over there, gathering the air And send it back to sky Late Spring, the air is like a potion A honeysuckle high Brings such perpetual emotion What could ever die? CHORUS: Therea??s a wheel That still turns this old heart of mine Lifts my heels In these measures of quarter time Spins the night Into light of such rare design Is it real or just time out of mind? VERSE 3: On the job I just go through the motions Required to get my means On the clock - suspended animation Games inside a dream Hanging on, staring out the window Soon I say so long And walk from that cage of ones and zeros Into a world of song CHORUS: Therea??s a wheel That still turns this old heart of mine Lifts my heels In these measures of quarter time Spins the night Into light of such rare design Is it real or just time out of mind? VERSE 4: Set free and ready for libation Kicking back and jive Yeah, thata??s me, Mr. Liberation After nine to five Six strings, somebody is singing Throw in a mandolin Sundown, come down, all that I am thinking Is do it all again CHORUS: Therea??s a wheel That still turns this old heart of mine Lifts my heels In these measures of quarter time Spins the night Into light of such rare design Is it real or just time out of mind?
