Singer/songwriter, Indie self-recorded: Wm Perry writes & performs tight, well-crafted songs. Honest & not boring, sometimes disturbing, with jangled-y edges. T
"I approach the writing of songs as if it's the only tool I have, with which to do something I don't understand." BIOGRAPHY: Failed. Kept moving. Your typical starving artist story. BFA from the Art Institute of Chicago, followed by several years in the Sign Industry. Front man in a multitude of short-lived bands, playing in clubs and warehouses in Chicago and LA's artsy, marginal war-zone neighborhoods. Now solo artist, self-recording. Bought a cheap, old house on Craig's List (without seeing it first!) and moved from Chicago to Cincinnati, an "economic refugee" you could say. Now completing renovations that make four floors of combined living/studio space and working on new music.

Lyrics
Key Chains - William McGuffey Perry I thought I’d get a cowboy hat The kind with feathers on it A briefcase and the kind of wallet That chains right to your belt loop I’d stack them all into a pile And leave for several hours Then I’d look inside of each of them To see what had developed And it was key chains That looked like bugs All done up in pink and yellow Their eyes light up When you squeeze their sides To help you find the keyhole I sat outside in the car Feeling good and funny I slouched in the seat and pretended to sleep With the radio all warm and runny Everything’s passed down the line Till it can’t go any further And the last one there is crushed to death Beneath the case of key chains Key chains That looked like bugs All done up in pink and yellow Their eyes light up When you squeeze their sides To help you find the keyhole I dragged myself out into the night To look for signs of survival But all I saw was sleight of hand Or the coffee break in the middle A line had formed around the block To fill out applications I held the form up to the light And the watermark was a picture Of Key chains That looked like bugs All done up in pink and yellow Their eyes light up When you squeeze their sides To help you find the keyhole (instrumental fade)
