Story behind the song
This song came to me when I was feeling lost in my faith. The song did not have a real direction to it. Shortly after writing it, a friend's brother passed away too soon, leaving behind a wife and three young daughters. Another friend lost her 2 year old son. I pray that it comforted them in some way. The beginning of the song seems to come from different perspectives for different people, basically saying that the one who you are missing is still there in your heart. But nearing the end of the song, you realize it is God calling you back to Him, that He is there, when it's too hard to believe and when some things just shouldn't be. Everyone seems to find a little of themselves in the lyrics, and realize that God is calling us all closer to Him.
