Story behind the song
This was a very love/hate song for me. The lyrics were written and put into the song the night before a show on 4 hours of sleep. With words I never felt like sharing.
A struggle with making the chorus not sound either cheesy or blah - why not a different language. Seemed to flow better that way. There were SOOOO many versions of the chorus- it was rediculous.
The song itself is about allowing oneself to be controlled to the point that one might lose themeself as a person. At some point the person needs to realise that they don't own their own life anymore. Welcome to martyrdom. Becoming bitter and hatred towards the person that they devoted themselves to, and allowing themself to be forced into owing themself. Devotion turns to slavery. Slavery followed with abuse and forced into isolation. Reality loses it's meaning. Deterioration and decay.
This song had FAR more lyrics to it originally, but cut down to fit. And the ranting removed. ha.
Lyrics
Decayed
Shattered to pieces from this gracelss fall
Would you even dare to try and gather all the shards
Might the broken glass from this sting your hands
You'd never let this be the will collapsing of yourself
Si je me brise demain
S'erais tu la pour moi?
Or just watch me decay
And then turn your back on me
Am I deserving of this?
Remembering the end of life as I know it
Why must I be caged in?
Making me the monster that I am
Interrogation burns me slowly
dragging me down
Dragging me down again
Si je me brise demain
S'erais tu la pour moi?
Or just watch me decay
And then turn your back on me
Am I deserving of this?
Shattered to pieces from this graceless fall
Would you even dare to try and gather all the shards?
You'd never let this be the will collapsing of yourself
Where's your compassion?
Where's your concern?
I will not live like this
I will not live like this
So pull the trigger
Since you've already got the gun to my head
