I am a musician and songwriter (primarily guitar and mandolin, but with amateur forays into banjo, fiddle, concertina, percussion and keyboard), jammer and jam host, recording engineer, producer, studio mole and occasional performer. When I perform solo, I'm hank49. When friends accompany me, we're hank49 and Loose Canon. Loose Canon is an ever shifting assembly of fellow musicians including Tom Edwards, Mitch Prevatte, Brian Chaney, Kevin Chaney, Lena and Jason Redding, Bronson Shanahan, Robert Darlington, Dave Eske, Johnny Decker, John O'hara, John Seay and more.

Story behind the song
This take is from one of the most magical jam sessions ever at the Manor. Lena Redding on main vocals, Mitch Prevatte on bass, Uncle John Sawbriar on main acoustic guitar and harmony vocals, Robert Darlington on electric guitar, Hank49 on mandolin, Bronson Shanahan on small percussion ensemble, John Bachelor on drums, John O'Hara on acoustic guitar, Tom Edwards is on something, I think 2nd acoustic guitar. I'm pretty sure that Vernon Winters was there that night too, but can't remember what he was doing on this track. Last tune of the night, and one which has pleased me every listen ever since. It's not that the audio levels were perfect or anything like that, (a little compression on playback will help), but the feel among the larger than usual group was so inspiring. That kind of feel doesn't often happen and get recorded at the same time. My privilege.
