Story behind the song
whoopeestinkindoo asked for music to his words.
Lyrics
was caught in heavy wind, on an unknown rgged coast
reefs were keeping me offshore and the storm was getting worse
the bow was dipping under, no place to go but down
those times you know, your life is in Gods hand
between featherwhite breakers, a voice told me the way
to this day I`m thankful for I`m sure my life was saved
it led me through a passage where the water was calm
`n I tied up at a fishermans dock in a Saltwater Pond
Atop the rise with a spyglass sat an old and weary man
his good wife stood beside him with a radio in her hand
She said son the kettles boiling, and dinners on the way
so sit awhile and listen too, what my good man has to say
he said a mighty ocean calling me, right out in my front yard
but my old boat lies on the shore, like me she is retired
old and watherbeaten, our days have come and gone
just a pile of memories, in a Saltwater Pond
Son I am the lucky one, cause I know why you`re here
I made one last plea to God, `n he answered my prayer
so pull up to the table lad, then get a good nights rest
so in the morning you might do, my one last request
there`s a mighty ocean calling me, and the time has come at last
you can load me aboard my boat, then light it up wth gas
then you can cast the ashes, when its time for movin on
one last voyage out to sea, from a Saltwater Pond
(talking)
so many, many years ago
like yesterday it seems
now I`m the one atop the rise
with a spyglass and a dream
with a mighty ocean calling me, rght out in my front yard
But my old boat lies on the shore, like me she is retired
old and watherbeaten, our days have come and gone
just a pile of memories, in a Saltwter Pond
