Story behind the song
Danish statistics shows that 4% of all children meet the diagnosis criteria for ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder). 60% of these children will carry the disorder with them into their youth and adult life. One third of these will live with this without any difficulties, one third will need medicin treatment and backup from the society and one third have huge problems with crime, misuse of alcohol or drugs, or even develop psychical illness. For parents to these children every day is a struggle and even the best family must accept that their children have to go on special schools, with other children with other difficulties. They watch their child been pushed away from the children of normal schools and they often ends up in company with people that easily can convince them to do dirty jobs for them. They experience their child doing the same mistake over and over again as he or she doesn't understand the consequences behind their acts. As the child grows older, so does the mistakes and at one point (as it is with all young people), they will have to take a step back and let the boy learn from his own experiences. They can only hope that the ice won't break. It is a sad story, but that is one of many prices we must pay for this turbulent society we have created. Too many young people fall down between two chairs.
Lyrics
He met the world with a smile on his face made out of love - this cute little boy And his parents showed him the way. Happy they were not knowing what to come They gave him the best that they could give Unconditional love they gave their son This little boy took the world with storm Quite a handful could never sit still Fooled his surroundings with charm and his smile But he was trouble and the world putted him aside. Father and mother fought for their son Doubted their ways what did they do wrong. And the parents looked from outside in a hopeless situation a fight they could not win All the things they did in love of their child turned into a feel of despaire Fear for the future of their son oh yes - they still care. The time passed by and and they struggled so hard to help him move on though life was up hill But dissapointments drove them apart Another lie and just another bill to pay Although the parents loved their son They took one step back - looked the other way. Without his parents the boy felt so free he lived out his life as he thought it should be no rules no limits no days and nights But he was trouble and the world putted him aside Kept behind bars a life in control Lost his identity lost in the cold And the parents looked from outside in a hopeless situation a fight they could not win All the things they did in love of their child turned into a feel of despaire Fear for the future of their son oh yes - they still care. Yes - They still care...
