Story behind the song
First all instrumental only recording from the band. Original idea was to develope an instrumental jam for our live gigs. It worked into an involved piece, which we made into two separate songs from the original tracks. We mixed and re-mixed it and ended up with two related, but very different sounding songs. This one, and a second version we released on our last holiday CD. The title comes from the fact that we all travel on U S 40 (the National Road) every day. Good driving tune, literally.
