Fantasy-themed rock ballads and anthems
Our demo CD "The Dark Before Hope" draws on the work of Tolkien, especially the Lord of the Rings epic. Bethany, lead vocalist and lyricist, is building up a body of songs about other books she was moved by as well--she's a fantasy writer with a penchant to wax eloquent in many forms about literature. Daniel, primary musician and current producer, plays around on his bass and sometimes a guitar to find musical hooks to build more songs around.

Story behind the song
Though a bit more influenced by the movie depiction of Faramir than some fans would like, I think the heart-wrenching behind Faramir's last stand was well portrayed there. Daniel dislikes singing, and I strong-armed him into performing this, so cut a wee band some slack on the vocals, thx. ^_^
Lyrics
There will be no dawn, I remember as I restccI will ride for Gondor, I will ride to deathccI will feed my friends into the teeth of grim nightccWatch them bleed and fade before the Dark Lord's mightccccThere is a broken wallccWhere we keep the fordsccWe know its strength will fallccBefore the darkling lordsccThere my lord must go--ccMy fair lord Faramir--ccLeave us without hopeccOf his returning hereccccWe will die for naught, we will waste our blood and breathccIt will bloody boots that are not weary yetccI have failed my father I have won him no timeccI will die less than brotherccin this darkness I dieccccThere is a broken manccOn a stranger's horseccWe know we lose this landccFor a lord's remorseccWill he speak again? ccWill he live to tellccRecall our men's last standccgive them a hero's role.
