This is why we do 50/90, FAWM, RPM and all those things that make us write songs. OK, my nephew was in town and we cranked up the recorder to get this song in the books. Lots more work to do, but gotta move on.
FDP Jam Tracks
This band page is going to be used for all of the jam tracks that have been posted by the FDP users at the "Home Recording" section at FenderForum.com. Check it out. Folks lay down basic bass/drums/guitar/effect tracks and allow users to add guitar and other parts. Pretty cool.
Story behind the song
Notes: I wanted to add a lot more instrumentation, but the song just would not let me.
1.) Sam has never recorded on bass (doesn't play one), so he put down a track and I put the acoustic down. He then was noodling along while we were listening and I said, that sounds good, let's record a 2nd bass.
2.) OK, he doesn't play percussion either, but he knock out a drum part with my roland spd-20 module. We had a tough time monitoring ti, so he had to pound on it and then I had to make it not clip.
3.) Probably a little slow and draggy, but by the time I thought about it, we were too far along. I hope you enjoy it.

Lyrics:
Once in A Lifetime Love
(c) Kevin Emmrich 2009
Sam Everett: two bass tracks, roland spd-20 percussion, harmony vocal
Kevin: vocal, acoustic guitar, banjo, harmonica
(Verse)
hair brown
tumblin' down
lips so sweet
knock me off my feet
(chorus)
it's a once in a lifetime love
i like everything she does
nothing can compare
with this once in a lifetime love
(verse)
green grass
wine glass
fruits of summer
this spell i'm under
(chorus)
it's a once in a lifetime love
i like everything she does
nothing can compare
with this once in a lifetime love
(bridge)
we go way back
and it's always been like that
always can depend
on a lifelong friend
(verse)
hair grey
words we still say
it's the little things
that she brings .... to this
(chorus)
.... once in a lifetime love
i like everything she does
nothing can compare
with this once in a lifetime love
