Off the Stage consists of two members: Cognition & Saga. We have been friends for over 10 years, and making music together since early 1997. We started out making battle raps but quickly grew bored with that world. Our current styles developed over the time period of 2001-early 2002. We self "released" our debut cd "Not Your Ordinary Minds" in a limited run of 100 back in 2001. Since then, Cognition has released two solo projects: "Shattered"(2001) & "theothersideofmyself"(2002), both also in limited runs of 100. Our true debut album is in the works right now (well kinda....). Its called "Evolution", and features production from: Emynd of Vinyl Monkeys (Anticon), Cognition, Auditory, Asiatic, and many more.

Story behind the song
This song is very personal to us both. It was really the first good song we EVER did. You see, the original version/concept of this song is actually from early 2001. We felt it needed to be remade now that we were more established, with better equiptment and more perfected skills all around. Each of our first verses were said in there original form. Saga's second verse is actually from a scrapped song entitled "Broken Rainbows II". My second verse is a VERY personal account of the night I was robbed at gunpoint while working nights at a gas station. This was the final piece added into the mix to create this NEW version of "Broken Rainbows". *little side note* Listen to Saga's second verse you will hear him say "keep the bloodline and legacy of this oracle alive", that has to do with our original group name Oracles of the Mind.
