EarthStone is a fusion of musics & styles, world & urban, always rocking the groove. Begun in the early '90's as an outlet for Rodney Roach's many years of experience in world beat. The focus has expanded from the early emphasis on african/caribbean/latin and ska/English beat styles to include funk, urban, blues, jazz, latin, & psychedelic rock elements. Graced by some excellent musicians over time, EarthStone as heard here has Eddie Checchio as guitarist & collaborator on several tracks. Multi-instrumentalist Rodney Roach on keys, bass, tenor sax, guitar, harmonica, percussion, rhythm programming, and vocals.

Lyrics
Some say fire, others say ice, Some play it rough, and some play nice, Some dance for the day, some dance for the night, Others just dance if the money is right. some seek the power some seek the gold, some seek the sound of words untold some seek a smooth line, others seek the barbed wire Something for us each in markets of desire I was born a stranger in a strange land Watching busy people building houses on the sand much too afraid to reach out a loving hand, I was a stranger in a strange strange land Some live the head, others live the heart, some live as rebels, and some fit their part, Some fight dirty, some fight clean, Others just fight for the chance to be seen. Some seek fame, some seek glory, Some seek a way to their heart's own story Some like clouds, others like clear sight, Something draws us all to the warming light I was born a stranger in a strange land Watching busy people building houses on the sand much too afraid to reach out a loving hand, I was a stranger in a strange strange land
