A one-man-band with all-original material, writing, composing and performing since 2005.
My name is Evan Schafer. I am an independent (or "indie") musician with a strong grounding in traditional composition, but I like to think my material always has a unique and individual flair. I guarantee not being bored out of your gourd when turning on one of the records. I produce, mix, and engineer everything myself, and have done so since late 2005.

Story behind the song
Evan Schafer - piano, drum loop, bass, vocals This was a quick chord progression that grew after finding a chord that (SHOCK!) I'd never played before. Although in the very simple key of B Flat major, I was able to make it more complex by adding a vocal line which took over 15 takes to perfect. Also the first single from the new record, "Dive."
Lyrics
In silent hearts Our virtue flees Like an apple red film On the wings of honeybees As an evening of sparks Lights up meadows of green astrolabes Content with an image Fleeting like a person who cannot be saved A cold winter's day In the spring of January Understood in a language That falls upon you like rain You've taken in vain This continental cigarette Eats away a lost life That we all try to feign Worried and missing I see days pass like rainbows When the moon and stars Are kissing The peach sunrise In the way of something else In the marching of a fire-red sky Bottle up your days and drink them all the time
