acoustic folk rock
Dave Stannard plays the acoustic guitar and sings, by himself, all on his own. While he sings and plays, he also dances around a lot and is good fun to watch. He calls this "a performance"; most people agree. His songs are actually written by him, and not others, usually. Sometimes the songs turn out quite catchy and people sing them in the bath or play them on local radio shows.

Lyrics
She called herself Minerva, I met her by the pier The tide was out and the August sun had left the mudflats seared so that "romance" filled the air - as we wandered round the fair-ground to the sound of catcalls from her friends, the hounds of hell She said tonight, on the Sky Ride, I could be her Peter Pan I cycled excited, back to my Dad who said - no chance, young man, we're going round to your nan's tonight it's one for the summer it's the tune on the radio Would you like a brand new day? No thanks, I’ve already got one of those one for the summer and the drink for the dusty road I hope I stay the same when I have changed into the emperor’s new clothes Now the lovely Lyndsay Lorelei, whose daddy owned a yacht took me cruising up to Canvey, to the gasworks where we stopped cos she'd grounded on a sandbank through no fault of her own for her hands were on the tiller all the while I was astern we were surprised nearly capsized and the gulls took all our clothes rescued by her brother in the coastguard oh the kindness he showed when he let me float home CHORUS
