Slow love song with vocals.
Story behind the song
I wrote the lyrics for this while out at sea during the 1st Gulf War (I was a Naval Officer aboard the U.S.S. Paul F. Foster DD-964 in the Persian Gulf). I wrote this about missing my wife Nancy.
I didn't end up writing or recording any music for it until about 1995, at my studio "Meaty Music Recording Studio" in Newberg, Oregon.
The kick drum is a bit annoying on the recording, as well as a lot of other things. But overall I like the tune. It's just a bit long and slow to be very popular I'm afraid.

======================================
I keep a letter from you
Beside my pillow
So when I wake up
I can smell your perfume
I've got pictures of you
Up on my wall
They remind me
That I'll be home soon
But I can't sleep at night
I can't do anything
But think all my thoughts
Of you
(Chorus)
I just want to walk up our street
And in through our door
And find you waiting there for me
I'll hold you close
Look deep into your eyes
And love you tenderly
The trip's been rough
Fighting time's been tough
I'm finally headed back to you
When I get home tonight
When everything's alright
My travellin' days are through
(Repeat Chorus)
