A one-man-band with all-original material, writing, composing and performing since 2005.
My name is Evan Schafer. I am an independent (or "indie") musician with a strong grounding in traditional composition, but I like to think my material always has a unique and individual flair. I guarantee not being bored out of your gourd when turning on one of the records. I produce, mix, and engineer everything myself, and have done so since late 2005.

Story behind the song
Evan Schafer - acoustic guitar, piano, vocals The title song of the album -- and what a good one it is. I had fun writing this track, partially because it is in my favorite guitar tuning, DADGAD, and partially because the lyric is one of my all-time favorites. The little bridge-hook thing right before and continuing through the line "you've got the Morse code sending" just gives you the best feeling when playing it. And the best part is, it's really easy to play! Fun track, fun track ... that's all I can say about recording this track. Oh, and I also added some backing piano as a cool addition.
Lyrics
Sending messages through the air Like an out of place call to another Person in the street, careful who you meet And talk to It’s so confusing way out there Just don’t forget I won’t be here Beside you in the light Of today You’ve got the Morse code sending Right through my veins To the heart of it all Just cannot seem to refrain From getting away to you You’re my love and here you go Inside a tiny box made of silk Cries an infinite world of love and joy From another corner of a mindless end To a day I wish I could mend When time slows down to let me see You cannot stop to let me be What is it that you want from me? Why can’t you just let me be?
