Do It Yourself Alternative
Since receiving his first guitar at age 12 (a 1965 Silvertone) Ryan has been writing and playing music for his personal enjoyment for more than 30 years. After years of putting his music on assorted cassettes (and a 8 year layoff to take care of career and kids) Ryan put Pro Tools on an old computer in the back bedroom and began writing, playing and recording music again. It's a life-long hobby for him. Ryan plays guitar, bass and keyboards and uses a drum machine for the beats.

Story behind the song
The music for the song was inspired by Beware of Darkness by George Harrison. The words came after I read a Newsweek article about Rielle Hunter who believed in the Power of Now.
Lyrics
Power of Now A slow boat’s coming closer today Sailing across the water, into the bay Every minute tells me more What surprise you have in store? Open your mind to the power of now Seize this moment to take a bow Can’t look over my shoulder again Practice makes perfect, they say dear friend Then a whisper in my ear Speaks to me loud and clear Open your mind to the power of now Seize this moment to take a bow Don’t cry Just take this time To see yourself, again Gonna find the truth that’s hidden there Unearthing all the feelings that I wear On my head like a crown All disappear when you’re around Open your mind to the power of now Seize this moment to take a bow Don’t cry Just take this time To see yourself, again
