A one-man-band with all-original material, writing, composing and performing since 2005.
My name is Evan Schafer. I am an independent (or "indie") musician with a strong grounding in traditional composition, but I like to think my material always has a unique and individual flair. I guarantee not being bored out of your gourd when turning on one of the records. I produce, mix, and engineer everything myself, and have done so since late 2005.

Story behind the song
Evan Schafer - drums, CP80, synthesizer, bass, vocals For "Idolize", I wanted a sort of cryptic lyric center to wrap itself perfectly around the bubblegum pop song I had written on my CP80. At the time of this recording, I was having constant trouble with the vocal microphones, but I eventually got them working to a certain extent -- the result was one of the best vocal tracks I've done to date. There's an unprecedented distortion that exists in the vocal track, and I left it there because it was so unique when I listened back to the first mix. But the rest of the vocals I hid the little abnormalities with a few flicks of the knobs on the mixing board.
Lyrics
Serpent crawls through the dark Into a lost of a forgotten forest Eating through every last bushel Of life that stands in its way Sitting at the table Getting ready for dinnertime Smiles the innocent little cherub From a cellophane mother Right up until the world collapses And the deaths measure up like a glass Full of rushing people to hospitals You can bet you won't idolize me anymore
