and here's a tune made up from the reverend freeze's bitingly funny words and my crafty pop sensibilities... or just more scathing psyco-sociopathic commentary by the sons of 1984.

the original semi-mutant, quasi-guerrilla new orleans pop combo... muggy music and words askew, with a hey-na-nonny and a ha-cha-cha!
4 or five guys looking for liquor, love and laughs. . . then writing songs about it. Each brought together in new orleans by hook and by crook, to play a moody, muddy, almost moist music. They have a rhythm that smolders like a slow landfill fire, with words askew and music muggy. Playing high and low, using whatever is left over from the night before, they tear into their sounds, (which are somewhat found), with an emotional ferocity few have mastered! Come hear for yourself, that witty and charming band about town...

Story behind the song
some more of the rev's hit-makin' wonders...
Lyrics
1) i read the news today, again. nothing happens in the world i consider nearly sane. president sez one thing then changes his mind, and nobody seems to know if and when he's ever lying... *** doublethink, well, i guess it's true, at least it was last time that i looked. . . 2) i saw my ex-girlfriend, again. she asked if my broken heart was truly gonna mend. she said she's been a real good girl, and all those other boys, uh, they don't count no more... *** doublethink, i sure wish i knew, at least i did last time that i looked... c) and sometimes i wonder, is it a conspiracy? and sometimes i wonder is it only me? and sometimes i know, but if i think twice it's gone, and it leaves me feeling somehow i've lived all this before. 3) they changed the news today, again. the president-elect has become my ex-girlfriend. she tells the nation she's gonna do it right. then she sez to me on t.v., 'forget what i said last night.'... *** doublethink, i sure wish i knew, at least i did last time that i looked...
