This page, in it's current incarnation, is mainly a place for me to put the songs I have written for FAWM (February Album Writing Month) 2007 and am writing for FAWM 2008. It's a great little challenge, check out their website at www.fawm.org Have a listen, in time I may add older stuff, we'll see...

Story behind the song
objectives for this song 1.) traditional english/scottish feel 2.)sounds okay slow (waltz) and fast (for modern pub environments) wanted the serious/traditional verses to sound "old"... i think they still need a little work... had fun with the *optional*/pub verses... demo note: very speedy job, didn't even listen to the whole thing... had to cut and paste the mando halfway through... want to add harmonies :) maybe someday...
Lyrics
when i travel, the only thing i wish to be is home where my true love is waiting for me where i'll drink my own whiskey(liquor?) and smell the sweet loam of the fields all surrounding my own home sweet home on my way-o, on my way home whither i wander or roam home is wherever your heart can be found and there's nothing so fine as to be homeward bound away-o away-o, nothing so fine as to be homeward bound but on seldom occasions locations afar have inspired my soul and have captured my heart now i thrill to go near them, the feeling has grown 'til i make no distinction, they too feel like home on my way-o, on my way home whither i wander or roam home is wherever your heart can be found and there's nothing so fine as to be homeward bound away-o away-o, nothing so fine as to be homeward bound when i trekked and i travelled afar out to sea my home was my ship, wherever it be for i loved the salt spray and adored the sea foam and there's nothing so fine as to be headed home on my way-o, on my way home whither i wander or roam home is wherever your heart can be found and there's nothing so fine as to be homeward bound away-o away-o, nothing so fine as to be homeward bound *optional* (pub) these long hours at work, they are just killing me though the overtime checks are a sight to be seen i'm fatigued and, i feel, can no longer postpone a snooze in my bed, the fine comforts of home on my way-o, on my way home whither i wander or roam home is wherever your heart can be found and there's nothing so fine as to be homeward bound away-o away-o, nothing so fine as to be homeward bound on a trip to the dentist in 2003 i sat in the chair as they worked on my teeth and i drooled as they drilled all the way to the bone 'till all that i craved was to be headed home on my way-o, on my way home whither i wander or roam home is wherever your heart can be found and there's nothing so fine as to be homeward bound away-o away-o, nothing so fine as to be homeward bound getting mail from the lobby, the elevator happened to stop 'tween the 4th and 5th floors now i've plenty to read in the lift, all alone but two floors away from the floor i call home on my way-o, on my way home whither i wander or roam home is wherever your heart can be found and there's nothing so fine as to be homeward bound away-o away-o, nothing so fine as to be homeward bound
