Soloist. Songwriter/singer. ASCAP member. A NICE WITNESS FOR CHRIST There is an extensive interview of me done by Scott Crawford, at . Do not let the site name alarm you. It is an "adult-themed music and entertainment" site. It is not a porn site, and you will not get tagged for spam if you go there. Scott is a journalist of integrity, who asked pertinent and penetrating questions, then printed my answers verbatim. Both God and His son received much attention in the interview. REVIEWS: "Fancy keyboard playing is the backdrop for this positive and upbeat collection. Hackley's vocals are reminiscent of Burl Ives." Review by Brent Castillo, The Wichita Eagle, March 5, 2005. "world's wimpiest Christian rocker". Brother Russell Podcast; : INFLUENCES (a very lengthy list, ending with...) "and of course, Richard Hackley." "Yet the songs on the Worst of the Worst can be compelling in their awfulness. Songs like Richard Hackley's rabble-rousing, hackles-raising spiritual God's Backhand ("We're not talking about tennis or Ping-Pong!") "; "Richard Hackley... HUGE musical influence. And a real bad mofo live.";

Story behind the song
Sometimes we feel unworthy to receive blessings from God ... even when God has promised we can have them, if we'll only ask.
Lyrics
(v.1) Mephibosheth was the son of Jonathan, His only claim to fame. But that was enough for King David to say, “I’m gonna take care of him.” But when David had to flee Jerusalem for a while Mephibosheth didn’t go along, and David wondered why. So when David came back to the throne, He asked Meph, “Why didn’t you come along?” Mephibosheth tried to explain uncomfortably, “My king, you’ve already done so much for me, “What right have I to expect any more from thee?” (c.1) What right have I to expect more grace from my lord? What right have I? (v.2) Mephibosheth is a good lesson about what not to do. Don’t let your own opinions limit what God can do for you. Christ gave to us all spiritual blessings. All Mephibosheth got was material things What we have is way beyond compare. Jesus Christ made us more than a millionaire. So who are we to argue with success? If God wants to bless you ... let Him bless. You’ve been given all the rights to all ... of God’s best. (c.2) You have the right to expect more grace from your lord. You have the right.
