well she's walking through the trees
because nobody knows what she means
she'll keep walking until her memory fades
and from their hearts, she's gone away
and she searches for the lost
through a thousand paths her feet have crossed
she pulls tighter, her brother's coat
as a part of her begins to lose hope
and she's cornered with tears in eyes
and only sadness within her lies
well she searches through the trees
and what she's searching for is me
i want to hold her so very tight
and tell her everything will be alright
but i can't say what i need to
its a shame, but its not new
nobody understands what she searches for
but i do, because i've been there before
and i'm hoping i'm what she wants
to make her happy, i'm all i've got
and i'm so scared of doubt in me
but i don't care, because she needs me
she feels a gentle breeze
as she stumbles through the leaves
and i'm behind her,
not yet she sees
but she feels me through the trees.
